The world was visited by heaven, and the earth was given an opportunity for a change of experience.
It was the beginning of a new beginning.
Christmas was the birth of change and the birth of signs and wonders. Isaiah 7 v 10-15
Vs.14….the Lord shall give you a sign, and behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son.
Signs and wonders are occurrences of divine intervention in man’s natural affairs. It’s a divine break in this lackluster, sin infested, sickness ridding problematic world. God gave man a break from the usual to the unusual, from the natural to the supernatural. Oh what a break!
Luke 2 v 11-14,
Vs 12…and this shall be a sign unto you. Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.
Hitherto, signs and wonders or divine intervention have been scarce in the world. It comes once in a while, through the chosen or anointed prophets of God. But Jesus came and brought an end to the scarcity and drought of signs and wonders.
His birth and life spells signs and wonders. Isaiah 8 v 18
Vs.18…The children my father has given are for signs and wonders.
Isaiah 9 v 6-7
Vs.6…the government shall be upon His shoulder and His name shall be called wonderful, counselor, mighty God….
John 20:21…Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Hebrew 2 v 13-18. He was made like His brethren (born like man) so He can transform His brethren from sin to signs, from degradation to manifestation, from confusion to vision and from hopelessness to purposefulness.
1. To transform you into the image of God
Psalm 82 v 6. I have said it, ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
John 1 v 12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
Isaiah 8 v 18a. Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given to me are for signs and for wonders.
2. To give a mark of approval of your acceptance into the kingdom of God.
Acts 2 v 22…Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.
Mark 16 v 17…And these shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues.
3. To establish your dominion on earth
1 peter 2 v 9… But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
4. To restore peace, progress, productivity and creativity back to you.
Joel 2 v 25…And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
Jesus’ birth is the beginning of a new beginning.
May this season usher us all into a new experience in a life of signs and wonders, in Jesus name, Amen.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
